Women In Ag Event

Tickets on Sale Starting July 2nd

Maysville/Gallatin Mo. – Make plans to attend the fourth annual Women in Ag Event on Thursday, September 20, 2018, hosted by the DeKalb and Daviess County Farm Service Agency (FSA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), MU Extension and Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD). 

The event, “Where Tradition and Technology Thrive,” will be held at the June Conley Building in Maysville and doors will open at 4 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit local vendors. The evening will continue with an educational presentation from Kate Lambert, of Brookfield, MO, who runs a blog and social media presence under their farm name, Uptown Farms, which highlights the challenges and triumphs of modern agriculture life.  The night will conclude a presentation by social media sensations, The Peterson Farm Brothers, who use their platform to promote and correct common misconceptions about agriculture through entertaining parodies of popular songs.

“Our mission is to promote pride and interest in agriculture,” said Daviess FSA County Executive Director Mandi Bird.  “Our goal is to provide information and sources of support, in a fun and social setting, which will enrich the personal and professional lives of women involved in the many facets of agriculture.” 

The 2018 event will feature local vendors including Grindstone Valley Winery, CW Photography, Law Farms Produce, Tipple Hill Winery, Country Cabin, Barn Quilting and more! Heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts and drinks will be catered by “Sisters Act” from 4 to 7 p.m.   To close out the evening, door prizes will be presented and attendees with have another chance to visit with vendors.

Women in Ag t-shirts will also be available to order, featuring this year’s theme.  T-shirts will be $15 and will be available for pick-up the night of the event, or you may place an order the night of the event.   All t-shirt orders must be placed no later than September 1, and can be ordered at the DeKalb or Daviess County Service Centers.

The cost of this year’s event is $15.  Tickets must be purchased in advance and picked up at the DeKalb or Daviess County USDA Service Centers in Maysville or Gallatin.
