Dear Editor,

Last Thursday people from at least four counties attended an educational meeting on wind energy.  This outstanding meeting was held in Cameron and was sponsored by the Concerned Citizens of both Clinton and DeKalb Counties. Both groups have been very active for over three years in the education of the public on wind energy. Mike Thompson, retired meteorologist for WDAF TV in Kansas City, gave the excellent presentation.  I want to thank the 230-250 people that attended this meeting for coming.  I have heard from several people that they enjoyed the meeting and that they learned some new facts about wind energy.  I want to ask those that did attend the meeting to share what they learned with someone that did not attend the meeting.  Some points I want to share are that wind energy is not green, not clean, not cheap, and not efficient.  Also landowners need to take any contract offered to them by a wind company to an experienced lawyer to read before signing it.

If you attended this excellent meeting, what facts do you want to share with others that did not attend the meeting?   I encourage you to share those facts in the paper next week.
