Colby Reed to Receive Eagle Scout Award

Colby Reed of Boy Scout Troop 67 will be honored at a special Eagle Scout ceremony Sunday, April 17, at 4:00 p.m. at the Breckenridge United Methodist Church. A reception will follow. The public is invited to attend.

In announcing the Court of Honor, Scoutmaster, Mark Corwin, stated, “This is an opportunity for our community to celebrate the accomplishments of an outstanding young citizen as he receives the highest rank in Scouting. Nationally, about 4% of Scouts attain this honor. This isn’t something that happens every day so everyone is encouraged to attend. In fact, we believe this is the first time Breckenridge has been the site for an Eagle court of honor.”

For his Eagle Scout service project, Colby spearheaded an effort which resulted in the purchase of new uniforms and equipment for the Breckenridge track and field team. Colby, 18, is a senior at Southwest High School and is the son of Joe and Tonya Reed of Breckenridge.
