Community Health Needs Assessment Update

Round #2 at Cameron Regional Medical Center

Over the next three months, Cameron Regional Medical Center will be updating its 2013 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). This CHNA update will cover Clinton, DeKalb, Daviess and Caldwell Counties and is a follow-up process designed to meet final IRS regulations released on January 2, 2015. These regulations require all 501(c)3 hospitals to conduct a CHNA and adopt an implementation strategy at least once every three years.

The goal of this Assessment update is to identify progress made since 2013 in addressing community health needs and to collect up-to-date community health perceptions. In order to accomplish this goal, a short online survey has been developed and can be accessed at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CRMC_CHNA2016.

All four-county residents and business leaders are encouraged to complete the 2016 online CHNA survey by Wednesday, July 13, 2016, and to attend the upcoming Town Hall meeting to be held Tuesday, July 19th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Dining Room at Cameron Regional Medical Center. A free buffet dinner will be provided starting at 5:00 p.m.

Joseph F. Abrutz, Jr., Administrator, commented, “We hope area residents, health professionals, and key stakeholders will take advantage of this opportunity to provide input into the future of health care delivery in our four-county service area. This fact-finding process won’t be effective without their valuable experience and feedback.”

Vince Vandehaar, MBA (VVV Consultants, LLC, an independent research firm from Olathe, Kansas) has been retained to conduct the associated research. Questions regarding Cameron Regional Medical Center’s CHNA activities may be addressed to Carol Arthur at (816) 649-3226 or carthur@cameronregional.org.
