Half cent sales tax must pass to continue street repairs

The Board of Aldermen of the City of Hamilton met March 9th. All members of the board were present along with Mayor Winford Gilliam, City Attorney Robert Cowherd and Acting City Administrator, Allen Gentry.

Members of the Lakeview Golf Club were present to find out what the city had decided about supporting the club. Mayor Gilliam suggested the members, with help from the high school golf team, sell raffle tickets for items donated by area businesses. Another suggestion was to contact the judge to see if he had anyone that needed to give time towards community service. Asking for donations in the form of products or services was also suggested. Scout Leader, John Dawson, asked if there was anything that the Boy Scouts could do to help, as he had 19 scouts that needed projects.
