Nuisances main topic during Kidder's regular session

Kidder met for their regular session on Aug. 11. Board members present were Dave McEwen, Steve Grooms, and Chris Bratcher. Alderman Ray Garton was absent. City Clerk Richard Evans, Mayor George Bauer and Lucille Lusk, the new code enforcement officer, were also present. The board began their meeting by setting their tax levy meeting for Aug. 25.

In old business, Alderman Dave McEwen, asked the mayor if the nuisance vehicle and tires had been removed from the mayor’s property. The mayor said arrangements had been made to remove it by the end of the week. McEwen also said there were people in town questioning why rock had been removed from the streets a while back and asked who gave the order for it to be done. Clerk Richard Evans explained that when the city was grading the roads, Charlie came to the council and asked the city what to do with all the extra dirt and gravel. Evans said they moved it on the city’s right of way and put it in the minutes that anyone could come and get it, they just needed to let the city know. McEwen said people were complaining that the pile was still there and weeds were growing on it.
