Resurfacing Project to Begin on Route 116

LATHROP, Mo. - Resurfacing, bridge repair and safety improvements are planned for Route 116 in Clinton and Caldwell counties. Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to resurface more than 10 miles of Route 116 from Route 33 (south) to Route D. The project will also include bridge repair to the Interstate 35 overpass and adding shoulders between Lathrop and I-35.

The work is planned to begin Monday, Aug. 3, 2015. Route 116 will be narrowed to one lane in two-mile sections as the contractor progresses through the project beginning on the west end near Lathrop. Motorists will be guided through the work zone by a pilot car. If approaching from a side road, please wait for the pilot car and join the end of the queue.

Crews will be on the roadway during daylight hours Monday through Friday, but may work Saturdays, as the project requires. All work on the project should be completed on or before Oct. 1, 2015.

Motorists should be alert and follow all construction signs and message boards. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely through work zones to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
