Ruby McBee

 Ruby Frances McBee passed away peacefully at Presbyterian Manor in Sa lina, Kansas on November 6, 2024. She was 101 years old. Ruby was born in Bray mer, Missouri on October 9, 1923 and grew up on a farm in nearby Black Oak community. She graduated from Braymer High School in 1941 and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Wal lace McBee, in July the following year. A long-time Salina resident, Ruby was a devoted wife and mother. She served as a deacon at Sunrise Presby terian Church and was active in church groups. She sat on the dialysis board at Asbury Hospital, now Salina Regional Medical Center. She had many friends. Ruby was a talented and industrious homemaker, a charming hostess, a fabulous cook, a prolifi c gardener, a fi ne seamstress and quilter, an artistic photographer, a bold traveler, and a coolly savvy bridge player. She kept the Sabbath faithfully and worshipped her Savior. She faced hardship with grace, and adversity with courage and optimism. Hers was a worthy life. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Sher man and Cordia Clevenger, her husband, Wallace, her daughter Marilyn Jean, her son Stephen, her brother Irvin Clevenger, and her second husband, Ray Eichler. She is survived by her daughters, Sally Gutzman of Salina and Jane Shahi of Lawrence, her grandsons, Derek (Becca) Moline of Salina and Cole Moline (Sa mantha) of Michigan, her stepkids, Tricia Lehane of Scottsdale, Arizona and Ralph (Gayle) Eichler of Teu lon, Manitoba, grandchildren Riley, Kayden, Sophie, Kane, Alexander and Victoria, and many cousins and extended family. Ruby was the sister-in-law of Clifford and Lola Webb. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednes day, November 20, followed by a repast and graveside service, at Roselawn Funeral Home in Salina. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the servie begins.
