Mary Katherine (Mayes) Creason, 90, Polo, MO., passed away on March 27, 2025, in Polo. Mary lived in Caldwell County, Missouri, almost all of her life.
Mary was born on January 6, 1935, in Caldwell County to Tom Finley and Eunice Evelyn (Carr) Mayes. She graduated from the Polo, MO., High School in 1952. Mary earned her teaching certificate at Central Missouri State College, Warrensburg, MO. Mary was an elementary teacher for many years teaching for 6 years for the Kingston, MO., School and then teaching for over 20 years for the Cowgill, MO., School.
In her spare time, Mary spent time going many places with her husband, Max, and she enjoyed cooking, sewing and crochet. She was a very practical person and also did numerous upholstery projects whether it be furniture or seats for a truck. She enjoyed taking care of her family and loved ones.
On January 2, 1954, she married Max Creason in Polo, MO. He preceded her in death in 2017. Mary was also preceded by her parents and her son-in-law-Fred Owen.
Survivors who will miss her dearly include her two sons-Jerry (Barb) Creason, Cowgill, MO., and Darel (Laura) Creason, Livingston, Montana; two daughters-Shelta Creason and Denise Owen, both of Polo; grandchildren-Edward (Erin) Creason, Ryan Creason, Meghan (Scott) Dehn, Mitchell and Mariah Creason; one step-granddaughter-Stephanie (Mike) Waigand; two great-grandchildren-Lilly and Easton Creason; two step-great-grandchildren-Rance and Alexa; and siblings-Betty Ball, Holt, MO., and Jim Mayes, Liberty, MO.
Graveside Service & Interment: 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2025, at The Prairie Ridge Cemetery, Polo, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Caldwell County Fair or Comfort Care Hospice of Cameron.
There is no formal visitation but friends may call at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, on Sunday, March 30, from 2 to 4 p.m., and Monday, March 31, from 10 a.m., until 1:00 p.m.
