Norma Jean Switlik, 90, Hamilton, MO., passed away with her loving granddaughters by her side, on May 20, 2025, at the Cameron Nursing Center, Cameron, MO. She moved to Hamilton in 1973 and previously lived in Mercer and Warsaw, MO.
Norma was born on October 18, 1934, in Lineville, Iowa, to Jonathan Archie and Gladys Marie (Hendrix) Henry. She grew up in Mercer and graduated from high school there. She then took business classes and worked as a secretary. On May 7, 1955, she married Patrick A. Switlik in Kansas City, MO. She was a homemaker and took care of her children and grandchildren. Patrick preceded Norma in death. Her parents and 8 brothers and sisters also preceded her.
In her spare time Norma enjoyed going to church, spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening and quilting. She was a "people-person" who enjoyed her quilting club, volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program, and being involved in the Hamilton Post #285 Ladies Auxiliary as a member. Feeding and watching birds was also something she spent time enjoying.
Survivors who will miss her greatly include her 9 children-Steve Switlik, Mary Abbott, Patrick Switlik, Larry (Charlene) Switlik, Theresa (Albert) Kresse, Kathy (Gary) LeFever, Dorothy Vessar, Evelyn Switlik and Tim Switlik; 15 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Formal Visitation: 1 hour prior to the service, 10 to 11 a.m., at Bram Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 27.
Interment: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caldwell County Foundation or the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
