Carolyn Lorraine (Filley) Blackburn Henderson, 83, Sugar Creek MO, passed away on May 27, 2025, at the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Carolyn lived in Jameson, Cameron and Hamilton, MO.
Carolyn was born on June 2, 1941, in Cameron, MO, to Ralph and Mary (Lewin) Filley. She attended school in Cameron and worked for the Stride Rite Shoe Factory, Hamilton, as a seamstress, and was the housekeeping supervisor for the nursing homes in Hamilton and Lathrop. She had also worked at the grocery store in Gallatin, MO, and she babysat many children through the years including her granddaughter, Destiny, and her great-niece Brianna Filley.
Carolyn married Clyde Blackburn on June 5, 1958, in Hamilton. He preceded her in death in 2000. Carolyn then married Bob Henderson on December 29, 2001, in Jameson, MO. He also preceded her in death. Carolyn was also preceded by her infant son, James Dean Blackburn, son, Troy Blackburn, two brothers-Bobby Filley and Leroy Filley, and two sisters-Dinah Bolinger and Dixie Stevenson.
Survivors who will miss her dearly include her son-Jeff (Greta) Blackburn, Cameron; daughter-in-law-Beth Blackburn, Sugar Creek; grandchildren-Nick (Danielle) Blackburn, Fort Collins, CO; Destiny Blackburn, Sugar Creek; great-grandchild, Sully Blackburn; siblings-Doris Darst, Independence, MO; Marvin (Mary) Filley, Kansas City; Ralph Filley, Kansas City; and Tena Tharp, Chillicothe; her beloved dog, Paris; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and loving family members.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, MO.
Formal Visitation: 1 hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home on Saturday.
Interment: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
Friends may call Bram Funeral Home on Friday from noon until 5 p.m.
