Albert “Bert” M. Sieck

Albert Martin Sieck, age 96, of Braymer, MO, died Nov. 1, 2017, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer. He was born the son of Albert M. and Bertha Anne Schulz Sieck on Oct. 2, 1921, in Norfolk, NE. He was married to Dorothy Elaine Mitchell on June 26, 1954, in Topeka, KS. She survives of the home.

Bert was a Civil Engineer for Garney Company in Kansas City for over 40 years. He grew up in Council Bluffs, IA, and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1939. He was a veteran in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. He piloted Mitchell B-52 Bombers in the 22nd Bomb Squadron based in India and China, achieving the rank of Captain.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Braymer, the American Legion Post 117 in Braymer, the Rotary Club, and the Grand Lodge #334 of AF & AM in Breckenridge.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; three sons, Alexander (Debra) Sieck of Hesperia, CA, Marty Sieck of Braymer, and David (Linda) Sieck of Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Sieck; and son, Karl Sieck.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 10, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer. There is no scheduled family visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tweedy Murray Post 117 in Braymer, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer.
