Alta “Donna” Dean Norris

Alta “Donna” Dean Norris, age 78, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on April 17, 2018, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Donna was born on July 18, 1939, in Utica, to Meri G. and Alta M. Cosby Merryfield. She had worked many jobs outside of the home, but she was also a homemaker and proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She was a 1957 graduate of the Southwest Livingston County School District. Donna was a member of the Hamilton Baptist Church.

She married Donald Raymond Norris in 1970, and he preceded her in death in 1975. She was also preceded by her parents; brother, Fredrick Merryfield; sisters, Juanita Ireland and Lura Peck; and brothers-in-law, Richard Peck and Nolan Long.

Survivors include her children, Kevin (Lea) Murray of Chillicothe, Julie Murray of Hamilton, Angie (Byron) McClure of Cameron, and Dana Henderson of Hamilton; grandchildren, Kim Murray, Brandi Farley, Katie Zullig, Brandy and Haley McClure, Brittany Henderson, Levi Norris, Jordan and Logan Potts, and Kelton and Kyla Evans; four great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Merryfield (Helen) of Grandview; brother-in-law, Otis Ireland of Chillicothe; sisters, Wanona (Junior) Gardner and Wanda Long, both of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton.
