Betty Louise Dixon
Betty Louise Dixon, age 91, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on July 19, 2019, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton. Betty lived in Caldwell County most of her life.
Betty was born on Aug. 4, 1927, in Kingston, to Russell and Sarah (Matchett) Moss. She attended school in Kingston. She worked at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton and also was a co-owner, with her husband Forrest, of the Dixon Fertilizer store in Hamilton.
Betty was a member of the Hamilton Federated Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer for the Welfare Board. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cards, crossword puzzles, and playing Bingo.
On May 29, 1944, she married Forrest Ray Dixon in Kansas. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents and four siblings, Bob, Charles, Evelyn, and Wendell.
Survivors include her children, Roger (Connie) Dixon, Sue (Ernest) Burnett, Melody (George) Pease, and Kenny (Kim) Dixon, all of Hamilton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis Monteleone of Holt, Fred Moss of Hamilton, Carol Stockton of Neosho, and Nancy Franklin of Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at the Hamilton Federated Church. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on Monday, July 22, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hamilton Federated Church or the Highland Cemetery.
