Betty Luan Davis
Betty Luan Davis, age 91, a resident of Chillicothe, MO, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
Betty was born the daughter of Joseph Warren and Carrie (Rupe) Murray on Dec. 6, 1925, in Polo. She was a 1943 graduate of Braymer High School. She was united in marriage to William Clifford Davis on Feb. 6, 1942, in Chillicothe. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1998.
Betty worked as a CNA at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer for many years. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Chillicothe. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 113. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, William Davis (Susan) of Chillcothe; six grandchildren, Misty Dawn Sampsel (David) of Chillicothe, Tracy Rena Kralicek (Shawn) of Trenton, Shaen Rooney of Joplin, Katie Rooney of Kansas City, Scott Davis (Heather) of Chillicothe, Kylee Soucie (David) of Kansas City; five great-grandchildren, Jacob Sampsel, Eric Davis, Ethan Davis, Matthew Kralicek and Declan Rooney; one sister, Dixie Lee Devenney of Alexandria, VA; one uncle, Ralph Rupe of Lathrop; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; one son, Michael Dean Davis; one grandson, Michael Todd Davis; one infant brother; six brothers, Forrest Verle Murray, Gilbert Austin Murray, Doral Murray, Joseph Warren Murray, Jr., VaughnCill Murray, and Billy Dean Murray; and three sisters, Lillian Beatrice VanTrump, Herma Genevieve McKnight, and Virginia Margerie Patterson.
Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Chillicothe on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. A Order of Eastern Star service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 6:00 p.m., with a visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and/or the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 113, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
