Billie Rae Diem

Billie Rae Diem, age 77, formerly of Hamilton, MO, loving husband, daddy and grandpa, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at his home in Springfield. He was born Jan. 7, 1940, in Caldwell County to the late Wallace Whitney Diem and Lou Ethel Raines.

Billie received his bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State University and was a retiree of the US Postal Service. He was known as a “jack of all trades.”

On Feb. 10, 1968, Billie married Helen Ruth Ramsbottom in Gallatin. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his children, Bobbi Jo (Hamid) Zlitni of Parkville, Bonni Jo (Thomas) Drury of Springfield, Betti Jo Diem of Kansas City, and Becci Jo (Jay) Kelbaugh of Kimberling City; sister, Verla Vivian Eklund of Clinton; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Violet Vinita Fagley of Hamilton.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at the Springfield Restoration Branch of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ, 5925 S. Woodcliffe  Dr., Springfield, MO. Cremation has been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home in Springfield. Memorials may be made to the Billie Diem Memorial Fund, c/o Great Southern Bank, 14309 State Hwy. 13, Reeds Spring, MO 65737.
