Blanche Maxine (Clevenger) Hawkins

Blanche Maxine (Clevenger) Hawkins, age 94, a resident of Norborne, MO, passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Blanche was born the daughter of James Bart and Jessie Reba (Yoakum) Clevenger on Jan. 14, 1922, in Caldwell County. She was united in marriage to Ira Lee Hawkins on Feb. 1, 1939, in Richmond. To this union four children were born. They were married 54 years. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1993.

Blanche worked on the production line at Banquet Foods in Carrollton for 13 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, baking, country music, and dancing. She loved having visitors and entertaining guests.

Survivors include one son, Gary Hawkins (Ruth) of Norborne; one daughter, Linda Cline (Denny) of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Laura Barron of Norborne, Michael Hawkins (Tammy) of Norborne, Christy Wileman (Dean) of Pleasant Hill, Gary Cline (Chrissy) of Genoa, IL, Marney Belmore (Nicholas) of Carrollton, Aaron Hawkins (Lyndsey) of Norborne; 25 great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; one sister, Nadine Silkwood of Chillicothe; one brother, Bart Clevenger of Braymer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ira; two infant children; two brothers, Herbert Clevenger and Bufford Clevenger; and two sisters, Mildred (McElwee) Redman and Louise Shaver.

Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Sunday, Aug. 14, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Union Cemetery in Norborne. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
