Bradley Stephen Ahart
Bradley Stephen Ahart, age 42, of Kingston, MO, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Apr. 30, 2019, from injuries sustained in a car accident on Highway D, east of Lawson.
Brad was born on Feb. 8, 1977, in Independence, the son of Gil Stephen and Teresa Yvonne (Sullivan) Ahart. He was united in marriage to Kenicia Rae Derstler of Hardin on Nov. 16, 2002. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his father and step-mother, Gil and Cheryl Ahart of Kingston; his mother, Teresa Millsap (Bobby) of Sunrise Beach; three brothers: Andrew T. Ahart of O’Fallon, Carter Douglas of Hardin, and Garrett Lackey of Cameron; maternal grandmother, Sarah Sullivan of Cameron; mother-in-law, Nancy Marriott of Excelsior Springs; brother-in-law, Kyle Derstler of Denver, CO; two sister-in-law’s, Lindsay (Donnie) Isaacs of Bogard and Angel G. Derstler of Kansas City; two nephews; one niece; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, and his father-in-law, Kenny Derstler.
Brad attended kindergarten in Polo, grade school in Cowgill, and graduated from Hardin High School in 1995. After graduation, he moved to Kingston and worked for the Missouri Highway Department. In 1997, Brad bought some land, started farming, and raising cattle. In 2002, he was married to his high school sweetheart. Besides working on the farm, Brad was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was of the Christian faith. Brad was well loved, a loyal friend, light-natured, and light-hearted. He was everyone’s friend; to know him was to love him.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 9:00 a.m until service time. Inurnment will follow services in New Hope Cemetery, north of Hardin. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice.
