Caroline M. Poje

Caroline M. Poje, age 79, of Polo, Mo., entered eternal life June 21, 2016, at Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City. Caroline entered this life Feb. 24, 1937, the daughter of Victor and Gladys Osuch Friday in Kansas City, KS. On Sept. 7, 1957, she was united in marriage to Donald Poje. She was a homemaker and worked for Montgomery Ward and AT&T.

Caroline was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hamilton, where she was also a member of the altar society. She was a member of the Polo American Legion Auxiliary Post #557 in Polo, the Polo Community Betterment and volunteered at the Caldwell County Nutrition Center in Polo. Caroline also volunteered for the Polo Volunteer Fire Department and was a professional volunteer, helping anyone for two hours a day. She loved quilting, oil painting, gardening, country music, square dancing and the 40 acre farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and partner for eight years, Jim Rardon.

Caroline leaves to mourn her passing five daughters, Victoria (Scott) Stark of Olathe, KS, Nancy (Lee) Daniels of Kansas City, Karen Burnett of Wood Heights, Tina Poje of Polo, and Michelle Poje of Kansas City; two sons, Brian (Vanessa) Poje of Spanaway, WA and Edward (Melissa) Poje of Polo; Sister Mark Friday of Leavenworth, KS; brothers, John (Janet) Friday of Eureka, KS and William (Carol) Friday of Texas; and sister, Patricia (Jim) Vochatzer of Kansas City; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held Tuesday, June 28, at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hamilton. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Catholic burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, south of Polo. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Caldwell County Nutrition Center, the Polo Volunteer Fire Department, or Bethel Cemetery in Memory of Caroline Poje.
