Carolyn Sue Goers

Carolyn Sue Goers, age 70, of Norborne, MO, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Carolyn was born on Jan. 6, 1948, in Richmond, to Charles Richard and Jean (Charlton) Seek. She married Dean Arthur Goers of Mayview, on Feb. 3, 1968. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2011.

Carolyn was reared and educated in Richmond and graduated in the Class of 1966. She attended the Independence School of Cosmetology and graduated in 1984. She would spend close to 30 years as a cosmetologist in the Richmond area, spending a majority of those years at JP’s Total Image, working next to Peggy Hackett, her good friend before retiring in 2011. Carolyn’s family was her life, her kids, grandkids, spending time at the lake, picnics, and barbeques. She especially enjoyed spending time with her sisters, shopping, traveling; they had a great time in Mexico and England. She always had something for those that didn’t have enough; she was a very giving person. 

Survivors include one son, Robert Goers of Norborne; two daughters, Rhonda (Joe) Finley of Norborne and C.J. Boydston (Rachel Kadosh) of Walnut Creek, CA; five granddaughters: Charlea Finley, Jennifer (Lee) Rucker, Nelle Finley, Jody Goers (Phillip) and Christina Goers (Patrick); three great grandchildren, Logan Weisz, Mia Goers and Ryan Entwistle; two sisters, Gloria (Wayne) Leamer of Braymer and Patti (David) Jones of Fort Myers, FL; and her beloved dog Winnifred “Winnie.”  

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and niece, Tracy Lynn Leamer. 

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at the funeral home.
