Claudia Arlene Stone (Jeter)
Claudia Arlene Stone (Jeter), age 75, passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Hillview Nursing Home in Platte City, MO. Claudia was born July 24, 1942, in Kansas City, to Claude Harlon and Mildred Arline (Beebe) Jeter.
She was a 1960 graduate of Kingsville High School in Kingsville. Claudia married Johnny L. Stone and they had three children. She became a Certified Nurses’ Assistant, working at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton, as well as New Mark Care Center in Kansas City. She retired in 1992, and was an avid gardener, baker and canner, and square dancer, even earning a bachelor of square dance in Jan. 1964.
Claudia loved to take care of her children and grandchildren. She was very giving of herself to others, and enjoyed putting on ice cream socials for her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband; brother, Paul Harlon Jeter; and an unborn grandchild.
Claudia is survived by sons Harlon (Rhonda) Stone, Ronald (Gail) Stone, and Billy (Jamie) Stone, all of Platte City; grandchildren, Timothy Stone, Dayne Stone, and Kargen Turner; four great-grandchildren; half-sister, Frances Louise (Jeter) Henning of Kansas City; nieces Melissa Jeter of Kansas City and Mindy Jeter of Eldon; nephew, Mark Jeter of Kansas City; and numerous extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Rollins Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Weston. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be given to the family for the benefit of the Hillview Nursing and Rehab Activity Fund.
