Coleta Faye Blackburn

Coleta Faye Blackburn went to the Kingdom of God to be reunited with family and friends on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at 4:10 p.m.

Coleta was born near Gould Farm, MO, on August 14, 1915, to Phyllis Anne Ennis Crist and William Franklin Crist. She married Doctor Hugh “Sweet” Blackburn in 1933. They moved to Hamilton in 1951, where she lived the rest of her life.

She is survived by four children, Emma Pearle Green of Hamilton, Patricia Ann Kipp of Kingston, John Richard Blackburn of Excelsior Springs, and Kenneth Ray Blackburn of Springfield. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one grandchild.

Coleta was a woman of faith. She never met a stranger and equally and deeply cared for all of God’s children. She had a great zest for life and laughter. She will be sorely missed by family and friends. She was a wonderful example of a life well lived.

It has been decided for the safety and concerns of others to hold a graveside service at the Kingston Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 13, for family members only. Others are encouraged to stop by and pay their respects at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton after 9:00 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 11, until 5:00 p.m.
