Darla Jean Ryan

Darla Jean Ryan, age 76, of Hamilton, MO, passed away Sept. 21, 2016, at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty. She lived in Hamilton since 1980 and previously lived in Kingston.

Darla was born on May 20, 1940, in Dover, OK, to Lloyd and Thelma Long Clark. She was a housewife, and she also worked in the past at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton as a seamstress. She was the Union President at Stride Rite while working there. Darla also worked at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton as a CNA. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Polo.

On Nov. 15, 1954, she married Walter Hugh Ryan in Kansas City. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents; an infant brother; and her son, Thomas Ryan.

Survivors include her sons, Chuck (Cheryl) Ryan of Excelsior Springs and Dan (Yonemi) Ryan of Cowgill; daughter-in-law, Linda Ryan of Perry, OK; ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Ditmeyer of Louisiana.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Assembly of God Church in Polo. Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the church.
