Darwin Kay Gilmore

Darwin Kay Gilmore, age 83, a resident of Braymer, MO, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at his residence.

Darwin was born the son of Raymond and Nellie (Swearingen) Gilmore on Jan. 8, 1933, in Excelsior Springs. He served in the US Army from 1953 until 1955. He was united in marriage to Patricia Adair on May 11, 1958, in Cowgill. She survives of the home. Darwin worked for Lake City Ammunition Manufacturing in Independence for 30 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion Post #117 in Braymer.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gilmore, of the home; one son, Michael Gilmore of Braymer; one daughter, Ramona Reed of Chillicothe; one sister, Judith Campbell of Council Creek, TX; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer. There will be a family visitation at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from noon until 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home in Braymer on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #117, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Online condolences may be left at www.lindleyfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer.
