David Eugene Dobbins, Sr.

 

David Eugene Dobbins, Sr., age 76 of Hamilton passed away on Dec. 12, 2021, at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

David was born on Feb. 27, 1945 in Kansas City, to June Carl and Claudia (White) Dobbins. He graduated from Penney High School in Hamilton and then served his country honorably in the Army during Vietnam from 1962-1967. After his military service he attended Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph where he earned a degree in small engine mechanics. He worked as a mechanic, and was a truck driver and farmer. On Aug. 7, 1965, he married Barbara Jean Hewitt in Cameron. She survives the home. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hamilton, the Hamilton United Methodist Church, and an active member of the Boy Scouts. He was also a member of Freedom of the Road Riders, a HAMM radio operator, and enjoyed reloading ammunition, his guns, camping and fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and teasing his wife. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Additional survivors include his daughter Deborah Hartley of Kingston; son David Dobbins, Jr. of Hamilton; and daughter Delinda Dobbins of Irving, TX; 11 grandchildren, Miranda, Kendra, Michael, J.C., Janette, Jeremy, Emily, Anthony, Ethan, Javier, and John. As well as six great-grandchildren with another two on the way.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, just prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at The Breckenridge Cemetery in Breckenridge. Memorials may be made to the family. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.
