Devin Kay Spidle Allee

Devin Kay Spidle Allee, age 37, of Braymer, MO, passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 31, 2015.

Devin was born July 20, 1978, to Sue Morgan Jacobs and Nevin Spidle in Chillicothe. In 1996, she graduated from Chillicothe High School. She went on to attend Trenton College. On May 8, 2004 she married the love of her life, Troy Allee. Together they had two sons, Troy (TJ) and John.

Devin worked at Casey’s General Store in Braymer for many years. For the last three years, Devin worked in the school cafeteria in Braymer, and recently part time at the Braymer Quick Shop.

The job that Devin loved most, however, was being a wife and mother. She was devoted to her husband and sons. Nothing was more important than their happiness. Devin took great pride in the boy’s accomplishments in school, sports, and scouting. No mother was ever more proud of or attentive to her children. Devin also loved spending time with her extended family, making Christmas cookies with her mom, and caring for her pets; she loved animals.

Devin was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Lloyd Virgil (Jack) and Esther Nell (Harper) Spidle and maternal grandparents, John Calvin and Shirley Lee (Roberts) Morgan.

Survivors include her husband, Troy of the home; sons, Troy (TJ) and John; parents, Sue and Jim Jacobs of Chillicothe and Nevin and Tammy Spidle of Independence; sister, Adelia Spidle; brother, Miguel (Ellen) Spidle and children of Shawnee, KS; father-in-law, James Lee Allee; three stepdaughters, Skye Allee and children, Danielle O’dell and children, and Brandi (Paul) Cones and children; two step brothers, Sean (Catherine) Jacobs and Mike (Kara) Jacobs and children; stepsister, Fiona (Jacobs) and Jordan Sansone and children; step grandmother, Rosemary Morgan; step grandparents, Keith and Anna Preston; two sisters-in-law, Donna Carpenter and Vicki Bolinger; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Devin was loved by all who knew her. She will live in our hearts forever.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at the Braymer Christian Church, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, also in Braymer. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to an education fund for Devin’s sons. Arrangements are under the direction of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, (816) 630-3131.
