Donna Rose Orr

Donna Rose (Kipp) Orr of Hamilton went to be with the Lord on Nov. 25, 2020, at the age of 85 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on Feb. 21, 1935.

Donna graduated from Hamilton High School, where she met and married Robert Dean Orr. During high school, Donna was involved in the marching band and was the drum major her senior year. She also was FFA Barn Warming Queen in 1951.

She worked at various businesses before graduating from St. Joseph School of Cosmetology, which lead her to open her own beauty shop in Hamilton. After her retirement she enjoyed china painting; flowers were her specialty. Donna also enjoyed cooking, especially desserts and loved giving them away. She volunteered at the Hamilton food pantry for many years. Donna and her husband Dean were active members of the Kingston Church of the Nazarene. In 2020 Donna received the Distinguished Service Award from the Church of the Nazarene. Donna continued to follow the Hamilton High School sports teams as long as she could.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She taught her family how to love Jesus and love others. If she could help you, she would. Many have received her love through her delivery of baked goods.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Home Health and Comfort Care Hospice for their help through this journey, and a special thanks to her friends and family for the love and support given.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Orr (Teresa) of Littleton, CO and Brad Orr (Ellen) of Fenton; daughter, Diana Morgan (Mike) of Woodland, WA; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Prothero and Patricia Pearse; and brother, Ronnie Kipp.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dean Orr; her parents, Joseph and Louise Kipp; and brother, Joe N. Kipp.

A formal visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, at the Kingston Church of the Nazarene. Family and friends are asked to please wear a mask and adhere to the six-foot distance recommendations. A private family graveside service and interment will take place at the Kingston Cemetery on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kingston Church of the Nazarene or the Caldwell County Foundation Cancer Assistance Fund.
