Donnie Ray Boyer

Donnie Boyer, age 83, a resident of rural Norborne, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer.

Donnie was born the son of Loy Boyer and Pauline (Hawkins) Boyer on Aug. 24, 1938 in Cowgill. Don got his education in Prairie One Room School, Stet School, and  graduated from Braymer High School in 1957. On Aug. 24, 1988, he was united in marriage to Margaret Brumfield. She preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 2020.  Don served in the United States Air Force for 5 years.  After the service Donnie worked as a retail meat cutter a various grocery stores for over 30 years.  He was a 50 year member of the Golden Rule Masonic Lodge #90 A.F. & A.M. of Topeka, KS.  Donnie enjoyed deer hunting, cattle farming, and his cat Puddin.

Survivors include: his twin sister Laundra Anderson of Braymer; nephews Jeff Anderson and wife Carol of Braymer, Scott Wallace and wife Ella of Waverly; nieces Kim Moore and husband Dave of Braymer, Rolanda Fansher and husband Randy of Braymer and Lori Johnson and husband Mike of Lexington.  Donnie is also survived by step-children Roland Lambert Jr., Terry Leeper, Cindy Holt, and Lisa Guerrero, and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Lindley Pitt Funeral Home in Braymer on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer.  Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 from Noon until 7:00 p.m.  Burial was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer.
