Dorothy Irene Linville

Dorothy I. Linville, age 96, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on Dec. 29, 2020, at the Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Savannah, where she had resided for the past several years. Dorothy was born on June 26, 1924, in Jackson County, KS, the daughter of Maybelle and Walter Gibson. She attended New York High School south of Hamilton and graduated in 1942.

She married Robert Goodwin on April 8, 1944. They had one daughter, Dorothy June Goodwin (Johnson). They later divorced. Robert passed away in 1992. She remarried on Jan. 11, 1957, to Forrest Linville, who passed away on Oct. 9, 2004. 

Dorothy worked at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton several years and later worked for Lake City Arsenal in Buckner, where she retired. 

She loved to crochet, deal in antiques, and garden.

Dorothy was preceded in death by both of her husbands; her parents; brother, Tommy Gibson; sister, Thelma Lamison; and niece, Ruth Ellen Lamison.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy June Johnson (Ricky) of St. Joseph; one grandson, Jason E. Johnson (Teresa) of St. Joseph; two great-grandsons, Miles and Austin Johnson, both of St. Joseph; and four nephews, Harold and Joe Gibson of Hamilton and Charles Robert and Paul Lamison.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m.  until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Friends may call Monday, Jan. 4, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton Baptist Church.
