DuWayne Pollard

DuWayne “Wacky” Pollard, age 73, of Cowgill, MO, entered eternal life June 15, 2016, at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. He entered this life Aug. 10, 1942, the son of Theodore and Ida Mae Caylor Pollard in Lawson.

DuWayne courageously served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1966. On June 5, 1998, he was united in marriage to Georgia Morris in Liberty. DuWayne was a welder for Trailmobile for the majority of his working career and retired from Kincaid Motors. DeWayne loved to hunt and fish and was a well-known coon hunter. He was considered to be ornery by his family and friends, who will miss him dearly. DuWayne was a family man, a good brother, and he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Dravenstott Pollard; his parents; his brother, David Pollard; niece, Shelly Cahill; and a great nephew, Caden Powers.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife Georgia of the home; daughters, Kim (Bryan) Bates of Polo and Katie (Dustin) Stahl of Stewartsville; sons, Brian (Kim) Pollard of Cowgill, DeWayne (Charity) Reeder of Hamilton, and Robert Shadwell of Excelsior Springs; brothers, Gary Pollard of Cowgill and Kenneth Pollard of Bonner Springs, KS; sister, Connie Sherwood of Bonner Springs, KS; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to Stith Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Polo. Services and inurnment will be held at Prairie Ridge Cemetery and will be announced by the family at a later date. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.stitifamilyfunerals.com.
