Elva Vinson Silkwood

Elva Vinson Silkwood, age 83, a resident of Braymer, MO, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron.

Elva was born the son of John and Eunice (McNelly) Silkwood on Oct. 14, 1934, in Ray County. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Leach. She preceded him in death in 1981.

Survivors include three sons William Elva “Elvis” Silkwood of Rayville, Keith Silkwood of North Kansas City, and Michael Silkwood of Avondale; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Mark Silkwood of Chillicothe; two sisters, Sue Moore and Fern Hall, both of Braymer; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; one brother, Ralph Silkwood; and three sisters, Ethel Reid, Cloie Mills, and Hazel McElwee.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Tinney Grove Cemetery in Braymer.
