Erma Caldwell

Erma Lee Caldwell, age 66, of Richmond, MO, died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.

Erma was born on Oct. 15, 1948, in Braymer, to Ermil and Kathalene (Wormsley) Mason of Polo. She married Charles Franklin “Buddy” Caldwell of Braymer on June 23, 1967. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include one son, Terry (Karen) Caldwell of Richmond; one daughter Shelley (Shawn) VanOster of Prague, OK; one sister, Joyce Nevins of Pleasant Valley; and four grandchildren, Kaleb and Kody Caldwell, Jacob and Jessi Van Oster; several nieces, nephews, and her many friends; and her beloved dog, Missy.

Erma was a 1966 graduate of Polo High School. She worked at Southwestern Bell in Kansas City. Erma also worked for various attorneys in Richmond. She worked at the post office in Polo for 26 years, before retiring in 2005 as Postmaster. They lived most of their married life in Polo for 32 years, before moving to Richmond ten years ago. She was a member of the Rayville Christian Union Church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church in Rayville. Burial will follow the service on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. A visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church in Rayville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rayville Christian union Church.
