Evelyn Ruby Shaney
Evelyn Ruby Shaney, age 85, of Hamilton, MO, formerly of Nettleton, passed away on Jan. 20, 2016, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton.
Evelyn was born on Nov. 1, 1930, in Ludlow, the only child to William “Bill” and Ruby Leighty Parks. She graduated from the Waverly high school. She worked until retirement as a tax preparer and bookkeeper.
Her father, Bill, later married Rosetta Frakef, and to this union two sons were born, brothers of Evelyn, William (Billy) Parks of Waverly and wife, Ruth Ann, who is deceased and James (Joan) Parks of Concordia.
Her mother, Ruby, later married Jay C. Davis and to this union three children were born, siblings to Evelyn, Arnold (Oleta) Davis of Hamilton, Barbara (Larry) Flinn of Phelan, CA, and Betty (Ray) Dunscombe of Hamilton.
Evelyn is also survived by a stepson, Ronald (Shiela) Shaney of Kenesaw, NE; and grandchildren, Tim Shaney, Heather (Bob) Gettner, and James Shaney; and nieces and nephews, Sharry (Matt) Thorp, Gary Parks (deceased), David (Brenda) Parks, Bryan (Cindy) Parks, Kris (Jason) Shilt, Jess (Lora) Davis, Norman (Melissa) Flinn, and Roger Wilson, Jr.
Evelyn was married to Arthur Shaney on Jan. 2, 1949, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents and an infant son that died at birth on Nov. 29, 1950.
The boy has been cremated under the care of Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A private graveside service was held on Sunday, Jan. 24, at the New York Cemetery, southeast of Hamilton. Memorials are suggested to Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton.
