Fayrenne Opal Alden

Fayrenne Opal Alden, age 85, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Sept. 18, 2021. She was born in Zion, IA, to Helen and Orville McCrackin on Dec. 24, 1935.

She moved to Hamilton in 1948 and attended Lovely Ridge School, graduating from Penney High School in 1954. Fayrenne went on to study at a Business School in Kansas City. 

Fayrenne married Leonard Alden on May 7, 1955, in Kidder. They were married for 66 years and together raised three children, Mark Alden, Kelley Stuck, and Brenda Sander. They farmed in Hamilton until 1984, when they moved to Kansas City. Fayrenne worked as a purchaser for the George P. Reintjes Company in Kansas City, prior to retiring in 2000.

Fayrenne is survived by her husband, Leonard Alden; two daughters, Kelley Stuck (Jerry Wasleski) and Brenda Sander (Duane), also of Kansas City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Alden (Susan Goforth); her parents, Helen and Orville; and her brothers, Marvin, Paul, and Don McCrackin.

Fayrenne was known for her courage, spirit, and wit, full of laughter and love for her family. Following retirement, Fayrenne and Leonard traveled by RV for many years, visiting the national parks, Alaska, and other scenic areas in the United States.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. Rte. 291, Liberty, MO.
