Gerald L. R. Harrison, age 78, of Hamilton, MO, formerly of Independence, passed away Aug. 4, 2018. 

Jerry was born May 28, 1940, in Wichita, KS, and graduated from Van Horn High School in the Class of 1958. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked at K.W. Dart for over 20 years and retired in 1997. He and his wife Rose then moved to Hamilton. He loved fishing and taught fishing to the children at Camp Quality for over 15 years. He was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Central States Bass Club and a former member of the U.A.W.  

Jerry is survived by his wife Rose Harrison; daughters, Helen Turman (Steve), Michelle Reynolds, and Kelly Jones; brother, Duane Harrison; granddaughters, Billie Jo Turman and Roxana Hinkle; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Abigail, Nathan and David Hinkle and BreAnne Vazquez and Shyloh Railey.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Cremation will follow with inurnment at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be scheduled at a later date and will be held in Hamilton.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Kansas City Camp Quality, 3111 SE 3rd Terrace, Lee's Summit, MO 64063.
