Glenwood Carol (Casey) O'Dell, Sr.
Casey O’Dell, Sr. was born March 1, 1928, in Braymer, MO. He passed away March 17, 2017, at his home in North Fork, CA, with his family by his side.
Casey worked as the Vice President of Lennox Industries.
Casey’s hobbies included golfing, walking, and traveling around the world, and for over ten years, covered the United States, Canada and Mexico in a motor home with his devoted wife Carlene. They loved visiting family and friends during their travels.
Casey served proudly in the US Marine Corps from 1946-1952. He was a combat Veteran of the Korean War, and will be buried with Military Honors.
Casey was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann O’Dell (Vinyard) and John William O’Dell; brother, William Lynn O’Dell; and two grandsons, Brian D. Slavenas and Samuel Douglas Brakefield (Slavenas).
Casey is survived by his loving wife, Carlene Claudia O’Dell (DeWeese) of North Fork, CA; daughter, Christi Carla Slavenas (Ronald) of Genoa, IL; his son, Glenwood Carol O’Dell, Jr. (Candace) of North Fork, CA; a brother, Ray Eugene O’Dell of Liberty, MO; and grandchildren, Sarah Slavenas (Jeff) of Rodelle, IL, Eric Savenas (Lori) of Kingston, IL, Marcus Slavenas (Carolyn) of Homer, IL, Amber Hanks (Nick) of North Fork, CA, Jeremy O’Dell (Meagan) of North Fork, CA, Daniel O’Dell (Breanne) of North Fork, CA, Nathanael O’Dell (Laurel) of Fresno, CA, Arista Flanagan (Steve) of North Fork, CA; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Burial with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017, at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA. Memorial donations or remembrances may be made to the American Legion at 9th and Murray St. in Braymer, MO 64624, or your local Marine Corps League.
