Grace Marie Standley O’Dell
Grace Marie Standley O'Dell, age 50, of Polo, MO, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS, surrounded by her loving family. Grace was born on Dec. 23, 1965, the daughter of Trennouth Eugene and Deloroese (Dee) (Harness) Standley in Carrollton. She attended grade school in Bogard, and graduated from Tina-Avalon High School. Grace graduated from Missouri Western College in St. Joseph, with a degree in psychology. She worked in the medical field for 20 years, retiring from Encompass. Grace was the most selfless and caring person who would do anything for anyone, at any time. Her smile and sense of humor could brighten up anyone's day. There was always a sense of calmness and comfort when you were around her. She did everything with a smile on her face, and even though her pain continued for fifteen years, her faith carried her through. She taught everyone around her to be strong. Grace enjoyed cooking, and was passionate about photography. She was a member of the Coloma Baptist Church in Coloma.
Grace is survived by her mother, Deloroese (Dee) Standley; one brother, Jay B. Standley (Sandy); one niece, Megan Standley; and one nephew, Trevor Standley; all of Polo.
Grace was preceded in death by her father and maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North US 65 Highway, Carrollton, MO, as well as prior to the funeral service. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home with Brother Richard Colliver officiating. Burial will be in Van Horn Cemetery in Bogard.
