Hale E. Gibson

Hale E. Gibson, age 91, of rural Kingston, MO, entered eternal life Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2017, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Hale entered this life May 8, 1926, the son of Edward and Esther (Tattershall) Gibson in Caldwell County, Missouri. He attended Hazel View Country School and graduated from Kingston High School. Hale honorably served our country in the US Marine Corps, until being discharged for medical reasons. He farmed all of his life and had an apple orchard. Early in Hale’s life he enjoyed traveling. He was a tender-hearted person that loved the outdoors and animals. He especially enjoyed taking care of his cattle. Hale enjoyed fishing up until his health wouldn’t allow him to anymore. He loved watching the hummingbirds and westerns, reading his bible, and eating at Golden Corral. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary Perdue and Liz Gibson.

Survivors include his nephews, Ray Tittle (Marion) of Saint Joseph and Gary Tittle (Debbie) of Lee’s Summit; niece, Carol Wonka (Frank) of Wichita, KS; and the Pitman family who were close friends, whom he also considered his adopted family.

Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 5:00 p.m., at the Highland Cemetery west of Hamilton. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning after 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Caldwell County Foundation Cancer Assistance Fund in loving memory of Hale E. Gibson, and may be left at or mailed to Stith Family Funeral Home, 301 E. Elm Street, Polo, MO 64671. Serving the family and arrangements are under the direction of Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo.
