Helen Lavena Foster

Helen Lavena Foster of Polo went to her heavenly home on Jan. 18, 2023 at the age of 97 years old. Helen was born on May 3,1925 to Thomas and Anna Bertha (Meyers) Johnson.
Helen married Logan Foster on Dec. 26, 1941 in Liberty, Missouri. She was a homemaker and loved cooking and baking for her large family. She was the best when it came to making rolls. Helen loved to garden and can everything from her and Logan’s large garden. Occasionally Helen had to fill in as the grain truck driver. Helen and Logan had five children and she loved them dearly. They kept her on her toes daily. Helen always made it to her children and grandchildren’s school activities. Helen was a member of the First Christian Church of Polo where she was a member of Christian Women’s Fellowship. She enjoyed helping with Harvest dinners and loved attending church. Helen
loved Sunday lunches with her family after church. She loved her family, bird watching, and living life to the fullest.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Logan, son Bill Foster, grandson Randy Foster, five sisters; Lillian, Velma, Ethel, Marie, Jessie and one brother Clarence.
She is survived by four children; Ralph Foster of Marceline, Judy O’Dell of Lawson, Dorothy (Norman) Mallory of Braymer, and Richard (Krista) Foster of Richmond, one sister Erma Jean (Gene) Rains, and brother-in-law Bob Foster, 14 grandchildren; Elaine (Kevin) Stallo, David Foster, Denise Coupe, Michael Claypole, Chris Claypole, Tammy O’Dell, Mark (Tammy) O’Dell, Stephanie Foster, Billy Foster, Tom Foster and Nicki (Ryan) Keith, Ryan (Jody) Foster, Rachel Foster, Macy Foster, 24 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held on Tues., Jan. 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Polo Christian Church, Polo, MO. A funeral service will be held on Tues., Jan. 24 at 11:00 a.m. with graveside to follow at Nebo Hills Cemetery in Liberty.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested Polo Christian Church, 301 Main St. Polo, MO 64671.
