JaVain Mitten
JaVain was born to Clayton and Johanna Mitten near the Kirkman/Redline, IA area. His family moved several times while he was growing up, which included Kimballton, Harlan, Irwin, Perrin, Woodbine and Missouri Valley, all of which are in Iowa. They also, spent a short time in Aurora, MO.
On Nov. 18, 1948, he married Norma Nordby from Manilla, IA. To this union three daughters were born: Igleedtis, Lanna, and Cherrie. In 1959 the family moved to a farm near Hamilton.
JaVain was known for his caring and helping others, which made him a good neighbor to so many. His ready smile and respect was shared with everyone he met.
JaVain is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Norma; his parents; a brother; a sister; and a son-in-law.
He is survived by his daughters, Igleedtis Moore of Gardner, CO, Lanna (Don) Cain of Lathrop, and Cherrie (Jim) Wittman of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Wendi Rodriguez, Dorothy Sampson, Chet Wittman, Amber Mututwa, Monica McKinley, and Josh Cain; and 15 great-grandchildren, Rikki, Alexis, Daniel, David, Destiny, Dominic, Sepo, Mundia, Ella, Eli, Ean, Mateo, Hayden, Alicia and Abigail.
Cremation is entrusted to Hidden Valley. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
