Jean M. Hines

Jean Marie Hines, age 95, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on Feb. 28, 2017, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton. She had lived in Hamilton most of her life except for a short time during World War II, when she lived in the state of California.

Jean was born on July 25, 1921, in Caldwell County to Ora and Emma (Connor) Jones. She graduated from the New York High School, southeast of Hamilton, and then earned her teaching certificate from the Central Missouri Teacher’s College in Warrensburg.

Jean worked as a kindergarten and elementary teacher, a homemaker, a teller at the Hamilton Bank, and most recently had been a real estate broker for Hines Real Estate in Hamilton.

She was a volunteer at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton and the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron. Jean was also a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Highland Cemetery Board, all of Hamilton.

She married Robert D. Hines on June 20, 1947, in Hamilton. He preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded by her parents; first husband, Ralph Peterson; and her brothers and sisters, Russell, E.O., Connor and Stanley Jones, Lucille Long, and Anna Laura Bux.

Survivors include her son, Ron Hines of Carterville, IL; daughter, Barbara McDaniel (Bill) of Raymore; grandchildren, Joe Hines (Gayla) of Carterville, IL, Nathan Hines (Christy) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mary Margaret Hines of Carterville, IL, Shelley Steele (Jim) of Shawnee, KS, and Lori Mansur (Scott) of Raymore; great grandchildren, Maggee, Sydnee and Maycee Steele, Jeremy, Dean and Madilynn Mansur, Susanne Loeser, Mara, Joe, Paul, Alex, Jodi and Katie Hines; and one great great-grandchild, Maddox Steele.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church Sanctuary. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, at the church. Friends may call Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton United Methodist Church. www.bramfuneralservices.com
