John Charles Bryant

John Charles Bryant was born May 18, 1959, in Jamesport, MO. He was the son of Charles Franklin Bryant, known as Bill, and Doris Nadine (Boyer) Bryant. He went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016. He lived most of his life in and around Breckenridge.

John attended school in Breckenridge. After dropping out of school, he later completed his GED. He was a certified welder, certified small engine mechanic, and was certified in body and fender repair. He served in the US Army in Germany during peace time.

John accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age, and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe. After straying away from the Lord, he returned to his faith later in life and attended the Breckenridge Baptist Church and other churches.

John was kind and respectful to older people, forgiving and was willing to help anyone. He will be missed by those who loved him.

Preceding him in death was his father; grandparents; two brothers, Joel and Phillip; three sisters, Mina Lee, Marilyn Bryant and Grace O’Dell; and one uncle.

Survivors include his mother, Doris Bryant, of the home; one niece, Trixie Gentry Ross (Randy) of Chillicothe; two aunts, Marilyn Harding of Kansas City, KS and Roberta Maddock of Maysville; and several cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Pitts Funeral Home in Breckenridge on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the funeral home in Breckenridge on Saturday, Dec. 10, one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Breckenridge at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Manor, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Arrangements are under the direction of Pitts Funeral Home in Breckenridge.
