Joseph Austin McBee

Joseph Austin McBee, age 65, a resident of Braymer, MO, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, at his residence.

Joe was born the son of Lyman Shrum and Romona June (Murray) McBee on Jan. 15, 1955, in Braymer. He was a 1973 graduate of Braymer High School earning the Curators Scholarship. After graduation, he attended the University of Missouri Columbia, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1977, graduating with the honors of Summa Cum Laude. While attending the University of Missouri, he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Joe was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the McBee Chapel Church in Braymer until closing. He then transferred his membership to the Braymer Methodist Church in Braymer.

Joseph loved attending his nieces and nephews sporting, 4-H, and FFA events. He enjoyed attending all of the local Braymer tractor pulls, and loved working and helping at those events. He also enjoyed going to the Braymer fox hunts.

Survivors include two brothers, John Lyman McBee (Gwen) of Auburn, NE and Jim McBee (Zelta) of Rocheport; one sister, Mona Kay Rennison (Eugene) of Braymer; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Methodist Church in Braymer on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 1:30 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Monday, Aug. 3, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at McBee Chapel Cemetery in Braymer. Memorial contributions may be made to McBee Chapel Cemetery and/or the Braymer FFA for the Show Barn, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P. O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
