Juanita Jones

Juanita Jones, age 88, of Hamilton, Mo., passed away on Aug. 5, 2016, at the Cameron Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Juanita was born on March 7, 1928, to Glen and Anna Mae Newby Burge in Cameron. She attended school in Kidder and graduated from the Gallatin high school. She had worked in the past for many years at Stride-Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton, and had been a homemaker and mother.

She was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church.

On Dec. 13, 1947, she married Charles “Charlie” Edward Jones in Cameron. He preceded her in death in 2004.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy; and brother, Keith.

Survivors include her children, Quintin Jones of Hamilton, Charlene Watkins of Cameron, Gaylen Jones of Holt, Delilah Ellison of Cameron, Kevin Jones of Cameron, and Lori Searcy of St. Joseph; brother, Glen Burge, Jr. of Kansas City; sister, Theresa Holcomb of Raytown; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
