Karen Cooper, age 74, of Kingston, MO, passed away on March 17, 2018, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty. She lived in Kingston for the past 28 years and previously lived in Hamilton, Mirabile, Polo, Cameron and Hale.

Karen was born on Aug. 17, 1943, in Norborne, to Robert Thomas and Alta Savana (Whitacre) Culbertson, Sr. She was a homemaker and attended church at the Kingston Church of the Nazarene and the Mirabile Community Church.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and one nephew, Douglas Culbertson.

Karen married James Cooper on Sept. 5, 1961 in Chillicothe.

Survivors include her husband James of Kingston; four children, Elaine (Mike) Henderson of Harvard, NE, Kathy (Bob) Yates of Liberty, Tammy (Dave) Ramsey of Roeland Park, KS, and James Robert (Terry) Cooper, Jr. of Stewartsville; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Douglas Culbertson (Jodi) of Carrollton, Ada Kay Stockton of Augusta, KS, Gary Thomas Culbertson of Jefferson City, Robert (Jan) Culbertson, Jr. of Afton, IA, Lannie Culbertson of Avalon; and Ronda (Austin) Bennett of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Mirabile Community Church in Mirabile. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Mirabile Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Epilepsy Foundation or the National Stroke Association in care of the funeral home.
