Karen Sue Cooper age 66 of Polo, passed away Thurs., Dec. 28th, 2023. Karen was born on April 21st, 1957, the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Brockmyer) Nash in Maryville. She grew up in Clyde and Kansas City. Karen worked several factory jobs before finding her true calling as a CNA; she loved working with the elderly. The most important thing in her life was her family; she was very family oriented, and she loved them deeply. She married Albert R. Hernandez, Sr. and to this union, five children were born. After Albert passed away, she married Clifford Cooper. Karen loved Elvis Presley and old country music. She enjoyed her coffee, joking around, time with friends, dancing and playing games on her tablet. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; children, Victoria and Antonia Hernandez; siblings, Norman Nash, Samuel Nash, Stanley Nash; granddaughter, Kara Nicole Frisch. Survivors include her children Angela M. Hernandez, Melissa (Edward) Poje, Albert R. Hernandez, Jr., Johnnie Cooper, Shelley (Mike) Weaver, Heather (Stacy) Stephens and Barbara (Josh) Norris; sisters, Marilyn (Ronald) Schmitz and Carolyn (Paul) Bethel; son-in-law, Thad (Ruth) Frisch; grandchildren, Toby (Tricia) Poje, Tabitha (Dylan) Fry, Michael Frisch, Amanda (Jason) Routh, Macie Hernandez, Mason Hernandez Clifton Norris, Elizabeth & Addison Stephens, Christopher Cooper, Arah, Kylie & Luca Weaver; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Brayden, Braxton & Bryson Fry; Harper & Dayton Poje; Jersey Jo Bills and Colton Routh; other extended family members and friends also survive.
The family will hold a celebration of life from 1 to 3 PM, Saturday, January 6th, 2023, at the Polo Community Building.
