Kenneth “Kenny” Earl Rogers
Kenneth “Kenny” Earl Rogers, age 95, a resident of Cameron, MO, a former resident of Cowgill, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.
Kenny was born the son of Noah Absalom and Alice Pearl (Moothart) Rogers on Aug. 1, 1924, in Cowgill. He was a 1942 graduate of Cowgill High School. He served in the US Air Force from 1943 until 1963, serving in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Kenny was united in marriage to Elaine Chatam. To this union, two children were born. He was then united in marriage to Katherine Evelyn Witt on May 3, 1969, in Kansas City. She survives of the home.
He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers during the 1970s until June of 1986. He also worked for the US Department of Defense in Kansas City for many years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Richmond. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He served as a volunteer firefighter in Cowgill.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Rogers of Gladstone; two sons, Kenneth S. Rogers (Joyce) of Springfield and Kyle E. Rogers (Debra) of Chicago, IL; two daughters, Kathleen Bell of Kinneville, IN, and Kimberly A. Rogers and significant other Gary Brauer of Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry and Wilmer Rogers; and one sister, Nadine Lundmark.
Funeral services were held at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS, on Friday, July 24, 2020. There was no scheduled visitation.
