Kenneth Leon Carroll

Kenneth Leon Carroll was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Dec. 6, 1946. His family moved to Kingston when he was at the age of four. He graduated from Penney High School in 1964, then attended the University of Missouri and earned a degree in accounting in 1968. After college he entered the U.S. Army and spent some time in Korea.

His career with Farmer’s Insurance Group began in Aurora, IL as a Field Auditor in 1970. He later worked at the home office in Los Angeles and worked at the Farmers New World Life in Seattle, during which time he earned his CPA. In 1977 he married Marj. He and the family moved back to LA in 1992, where he then retired as Vice President of Internal Auditing in Los Angeles in 2007. Ken served on the Credit Union Board as well as the Zurich American Life Board.

Ken was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf. He was unwavering in his dedication to his family, faith and friends. Even through the 10-1/2 years of fighting cancer he never gave up. He completed the race with grace and dignity on May 18, 2016. His first priority was his love for the Lord, which was instilled in him by a wonderful mother, and his dedication to love and provide for his family.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Lorene, and his twin brother, Keith.

Survivors include his wife, Marj; son, Nathan (Christine), Elise, Brigitte and Ezekiel in California; daughter, Brianna (Johnasan), Reagan, Johnny and Julianna in Texas; his brother Steve (Joy) in Michigan; nephew Ed (Erin), Elizabeth, Catie in Kansas; and nephew, Josh, Lauryn and Oliviah in Michigan.
