Kenton “Kent” Eugene Houghton

Kenton “Kent” Eugene Houghton, age 63, of Kingston, MO, passed away on July 5, 2019, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City. He lived in Caldwell County all of his life.

Kent was born on Feb. 18, 1956, in Cameron, to Maurice Eugene and Ruth Evelyn (Hill) Houghton. He graduated from Penney High School in Hamilton in 1974. He farmed and was raised and lived on the family farm in Kingston numerous years. Kent was a member of the Kingston Nazarene Church in Kingston.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rodney.

Survivors include three children, Rodney (Rebecca) Houghton of Troy, KS, Curtis (Misty) Houghton of Hamilton, and Shelby Houghton of Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren, Alexandra, Anisten, Isaac, Abram, and Sara Houghton; sister, L. Diane (Keith) Rodwell of Summerville, SC; and aunt, Martha Rains of Hamilton.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at the Kingston Church of the Nazarene. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Kingston Cemetery in Kingston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kingston Church of the Nazarene.
