Kevin S. Kohler

Kevin S. Kohler, age 53, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021. He was residing at Abby Woods Rehabilitation and Healing Center in St. Joseph.

Kevin was born in Mount Ayr, la. On Sept. 7th, 1968. Kevin was the son of Marilyn Kohler of Bethany and Michael (Bev) Kohler of Hamilton. His younger years were spent on the family farm at Hatfield. The family moved to Bethany in 1973. Kevin attended school in Bethany and is a 1986 graduate of South Harrison High School. During high school he played football and participated in track as a pole-vaulter. After high school, Kevin joined the Army National Guard, and served in the artillery unit for 10 years at the armory in Albany.

Kevin attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. During his college career, he studied Criminal Justice and Aviation. Kevin worked for Direct Mortgage in St. Joseph for several years and had several other jobs in and around the St. Joseph and Kansas City area. Kevin married Danette Daniel in 1997 and had a son, Zandin D. Kohler in 2003. Kevin enjoyed auto racing and raced a modified racecar in the northwest Missouri area for years.

Kevin is preceded in death by his grandparents; Merlin and Lois McChesney of Hatfield; and Corneal and Elizabeth Burton of Bethany; as well as a brother Kenny Kohler (infant).

Kevin is survived by his son, Zandin Kohler of Savannah; his parents; his brother Kelly (Ann) Kohler of Bethany and his sister Kerissa (Kevin) Carmichael of Bethany; two nephews, Cody Kohler and Ryan Carmichael of Bethany; and one niece Sara Carmichael of Bethany; step-brother, Rod Bowen of Hamilton; step-sister LaGena English of Las Vegas; several step nephews and step nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
